The Creation of the World
A long, long time ago, before there was anything—no trees, no mountains, no animals, and not even people—there was only God. The world was empty, dark, and silent. But God had a big, wonderful plan to create something amazing.
So, God began to create everything!
Day 1: Light
First, God said, “Let there be light!”
And just like that, light appeared! God called the light day and the darkness night.
God saw the light was good, and this was the very first day.
Day 2: Sky
On the second day, God made the sky! He separated the waters above from the waters below, creating a beautiful blue sky for everyone to see.
Day 3: Land, Seas, and Plants
On the third day, God said, “Let the water gather together in one place so dry land can appear.”
And it happened just as He said! God called the dry land Earth and the waters Seas.
But God wasn’t done yet! He made all kinds of plants—flowers, trees, and bushes. Some plants grew yummy fruits like apples and oranges, while others grew vegetables like carrots and cucumbers.
God saw that everything He made was good!
Day 4: Sun, Moon, and Stars
On the fourth day, God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to shine during the day and at night.”
And God made the sun to shine during the day and the moon and stars to light up the night. Now people could tell time and have light to guide them.
Day 5: Birds and Fish
On the fifth day, God filled the sky with birds and the seas with fish. There were colorful parrots, tiny sparrows, and great big eagles. In the water, God made little goldfish, big whales, and speedy dolphins.
God told them to multiply so the skies and seas would always be full of life. And it was good!
Day 6: Animals and People
On the sixth day, God made animals to live on the land. He made lions, zebras, kangaroos, and even tiny ants.
But God saved the most special creation for last. He said, “Let’s make people in our image.”
So, God created a man and a woman named Adam and Eve. God gave them the job of taking care of the earth, the plants, and the animals.
God saw everything He made, and it was very, very good!
Day 7: Rest
On the seventh day, God rested. He had finished His amazing creation. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, a special day to rest and remember all the wonderful things He made.
And that’s how God created the world! Everything we see—the sun, trees, animals, and even you—was made by God. And He loves everything He made!
Lesson
God made this beautiful world for us to enjoy and take care of. Every time you see something wonderful, like a flower or a rainbow, remember to thank God for His creation!
