The Call of Abram
A long time ago, there was a man named Abram. He lived in a place called Haran with his wife, Sarai, and his family. Abram loved God and listened to Him. One day, God had a very special message for Abram.
God’s Big Promise
God said to Abram,
“Leave your country, your family, and your home. Go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing to others. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
This was a big decision for Abram. God was asking him to leave everything he knew and travel to a place he had never seen before. But Abram trusted God and believed His promise.
Abram Obeys God
Abram didn’t hesitate. He packed up his things, gathered his family, and set off on the journey. Abram was 75 years old, but he didn’t let that stop him! He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all the people and animals they had.
They traveled far and wide, not knowing exactly where they were going. But Abram trusted that God would guide them.
The New Land
Finally, Abram and his family arrived in the land of Canaan. God spoke to Abram again and said,
“This is the land I will give to your children and their children.”
Abram was so thankful for God’s promise. He built an altar there to worship God and thank Him for His blessings.
Traveling and Trusting
Abram and his family kept traveling through the land, and everywhere they went, Abram built altars to worship God. He trusted that God’s promises would come true, even if he didn’t see them right away.
Lesson
Abram’s story teaches us to trust God, even when we don’t know exactly where He is leading us. God always keeps His promises, and when we follow Him, He blesses us so we can be a blessing to others.
